Welcome to Jennifer Knits! Fall yarns are starting to arriving and we have NEW fibers from Jade Sapphire like Ghengis (a super thick cashmere), Prism’s NEW colors of Galaxy and Tencel, Rowan’s Amy Butler Cotton, and Tahki/Stacy Charles Missoni-ish tweeds.

Jennifer is in the store for help and pattern writing EVERY day of the week Tuesday 11 am to 7 pm, Wednesday 11 am to 2:30 pm and Thursday to Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm.

Classes for Fall 2010

Classes are offered monthly at Jennifer Knits. Classes are limited to EIGHT students per class. The following classes will book quickly, so sign up ASAP. Call for sign-up and/or details: 310-471-8733

August 30th, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm

Jennifer's "Fix It" class. Learn to rip rows, fix dropped stitches, follow a pattern, learn abbreviations and how to properly measure. Jennifer teaches you all of the tips you need to become a master knitter. Jennifer will customize this class based on attendees. *Only eight to a class. Just bring some yarn and needles.

Monday, September 20th, 10:30 to 1:30

Can I Fair Isle knit? Yes you can! Pick up your kit to make a pillow with Fair Isle technique. Your choice of abstract or floral. Jennifer will teach you how to carry your yarn, use bobbins (or not) and combine multiple yarns without making holes. Part two of class in October for the put together. Yarn and class $125. Hat pattern will be provided to use up all of your leftovers. *Up to 10 for the class, cashmere pillow is optional for slightly more. US #9 straight needles needed.

Monday, October 18th, 10 am to 5 pm

Gwen Botner is back! She will be teaching an all day workshop on SWEATER FINISHING. Learn everything you need to sew together, work necklines and collars, make button bands and much, much more. Class is $110 with a delicious one hour served lunch. A list of supplies will be provided 3 weeks prior to the class. Fourteen spaces available.

Class fees are $50 per student (unless otherwise noted) and a maximum of 8 students will be enrolled. Class must be paid in full two weeks prior to date and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Jennifer Knits Happy Hour. Enjoy a little vino and some treats while Jennifer teaches you important basics and Cheryl and Ariella fix your mistakes. Demo by Jenn from 6 to 6:30.

July 27th: Learn to correctly decrease and increase (SSK, K2tog, M1, Inc).

August 3rd: Learn to properly cast on and cast off.

August 10th: “How do I read my abbreviations?”…learn basic abbreviations.

August 17th: "Oh, no! I have to rip out rows!" Learn how to do it without a panic attack!
